With over 15 years of professional experience, I am a dedicated Yacht Exterior Designer specializing in the conceptualization and styling of luxury marine vessels. My design journey began with a Master’s degree in Information Technologies in Design from Istanbul Technical University, followed by a second Master’s in Transportation Design from Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) Torino. This deep educational background allowed me to master the aesthetics and ergonomics of complex moving objects.
I began my career in Italy as a car designer, working with industry giants like Fiat and Torino Design. Since 2009, I have translated this high-performance automotive DNA into the world of luxury yachting. I have had the privilege of designing for Turkey’s most prestigious shipyards, including CMB Yachts, Mengi Yay, RMK Yachts, Bering Yachts, Naval Yachts, and TSMM. My work has been recognized globally, earning prestigious accolades such as the Yacht and Aviation Awards and the A' Design Awards. My focus remains on creating timeless, striking, and sophisticated silhouettes that redefine elegance on the water.
My Design Philosophy
If a design is going to be brought to life and built, it deserves deep thought and meticulous care. My philosophy is straightforward: to look beyond generic, everyday solutions and strive for a fresh, meaningful aesthetic. Instead of repeating familiar forms, I focus on crafting striking, contemporary silhouettes. My ultimate goal is to design vessels that don't just exist on the water, but bring a distinct, modern, and truly beautiful visual character to it.
My Design Process
Upon receiving the brief, fluid hand-sketching is utilized to explore bold aesthetics and capture the design's raw beauty, always keeping real-world feasibility in mind.
During the initial design phase, multiple concept variations are developed to align with the client's vision. These are presented as refined profile illustrations, providing a clear and inspiring first glimpse of the yacht's exterior character and proportions.
Working in seamless collaboration with naval architects and marine engineers, I ensure the initial aesthetic vision is meticulously translated into a comprehensive and fully functional technical package.
True performance requires a perfect balance of design and engineering. By working in sync with naval architects, I ensure the exterior styling naturally complements the optimized hull form, proving that hydrodynamic efficiency is inherently beautiful.
Following concept approval, the design transitions into the digital realm. A highly detailed 3D model is developed using advanced surfacing tools, ensuring perfect exterior proportions and production readiness.
To ensure the final build flawlessly reflects the original vision, I provide continuous design oversight and project management support, from the shipyard floor to the final handover.
